what is fleyrm?

fleyrm is not a place. fleyrm is not a person. fleyrm is not an object. fleyrm is not a secret… anymore.
fleyrm is a word that that escaped my mouth while trying to scream “flood!” after some pinecones that I had flushed down the toilet clogged and broke my home’s septic tank. While one could assume that my utterance was a mistake, I knew instantly that this word was an incredible gift, created in a moment of raw emotion. It was the word that described the intangible. The word you search for when you hear the sound of a child’s first laugh, savor the taste of Kopi Luwak- the world’s most expensive berry, or witness the sight of sewage seeping through the walls of your newly finished basement.
You’ll not find these words in a dictionary; you’ll not find them sewn into a sampler by your friend’s beautiful, talented, and beautiful wife. They exist only inside of you*, shocked to life by the moment when the familiar simply will not do.
I was floored that the universe had allowed me this moment. I stood there entranced, until I was ankle deep in brown. And in that sea of waste, two things became became clear: one, fleyrm was the word I had been searching for all my life- the word that describes the beautiful choices I make on a daily basis; and two, my socks had to go.
As we move forward together, dear reader, I implore you to find your own fleyrm. fleyrm is your permission to make your own beautiful choices. I have made the beautiful choice to share my personal journey toward becoming the best person in the world. I will lead by example, and you are welcome to follow.
In time you’ll see just how wonderful it is to be me, Courtney Austen Brown. For I am sharing my very being with you here, at fleyrm.com.
*Meaning me, Courtney Austen Brown, and at the U.S. Patent Office.
